Artist's Comments
so there is a manga that not many know about named BLAME (pronounced Blam).
First, Let me tell you my taste in japanese mangas and anime's have very high standards. For the most part I feel most anime's and manga's look too much alike and have so much incommon that they might as well all be named "Generic manga/anime with generic characters and story #1" etc etc. I blame this mostly on the corporate money machines that have turned japanese art into a form of money making. With countles "how to's" that do nothing other than erase any form of style or originality a possible artist may have had. But i am digressing from the point i want to make. However, unlike other manga's and comics Blame to me seems completely different. The art style is one you'd never expect out of a manga. Each page is a bounty of art with inumerable details, beautify and amazing architecture. No spot is left blank purposefuly for the sake of making the manga cheaper to produce, but to add to the level of skill and effort put into it. Even each character has a level of detail that i feel is unparalelled in any other manga ive read. What i feel is the best about the story is that no matter how hard i try to concentrate on where the story is, or what is happening, even if im trying to retain information on any detail wahtsoever im still left with the sense that i still no nothing about the comic except for some vague unimportant undescriptive details. Compared to the extremely large amount of information needed to comprehend everything in the comic, the few things made obvious to you seem like nothing in the actual spectrum of things. If there is any Manga i can say i worship without having the feeling of being a total loser weaboo, its this one. My desktop is a page taken from the cover of BLAME book 6... at book 6 your already well over a few hundred pages into the entire comic itself. Here's the link to where im reading this comic [link] And here is the link to the comic cover i use as desktop [link] Main characters are Killy on left, and Cibo on right. |
